Saturn from Rhea by Alpha-Element Saturn from Rhea by Alpha-Element
:)!!!!!PLEASE DOWNLOAD FOR BEST QUALITY AND DETAIL!!!!!:)

:D!!!!!PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION!!!!!:D

:)!!!!!PLEASE COMMENT AND GIVE YOUR OPPINIONS!!!!!:)

hello again fellow viewers! here i have recreated the saturnian system as viewed from Rhea(saturn's second largest moon).

from left to right:
-Iapetus(very dark moon to the far left of the image. i blew it up by about a factor of 2 to make it visible.)
-Dione(largest moon in the image to the left of saturn.)
-Enceladus(moon in front of saturn.)
-Tethys(moon to the right of saturn.)
-Titan(red moon to the far right of the image.)

-all distances are roughly scientifically accurate except for iapetus.
-iapetus and titan are behind saturn.
-saturn's axial tilt is also farely accurate.
-saturn's rings are supposed to be slightly thinner.
-the moons orbital planes are also farely accurate.
-saturn's rings are also farely accurate.

Oh! and for the first time ever, i added ring shadow to the planet!:) so comment and tell me how i did on them!:) i'll see if i can make a tutorial on how to do it, its pretty easy!:D

so comment and tell me how i did on the image! enjoy!:D

Wow, I've got to try that... Right know I'm playing around with Space Engine (if you haven't you should try it ;) )

i recommend staying on space engine. celestia is an okay space simulator, but you really can't do much with it and it only shows you what we've currently discovered. it also hasn't had an update in a while, so its kinda outdated right now.
your so lucky you can get space engine to run on your system. i downloaded it, but i can't run it because my graphic card is not supported, its really not fair. so i'm stuck with celestia for a while i guess.

Aw, that's no good... :( Well, it's kinda resource heavy, sometimes my laptop freezes with it and it's a powerful one! But don't worry, sooner or later you'll be able to get a new one, or modify yours :)

Good luck! I'd suggest you to try to give the process top priority, so your computer destinates more RAM to it when it's running (Ctrl+Alt+Supr, Task Admin, Processes tab, search for the process, right click on it and there should be an option about priority). That should allow it to run better. Remember to close as many programs as possible when using it :)

Nice!
I like the idea :) Very well done.
Where does the crater picture come from? Looks like an impact crater on Earth. Is that the one from Arizona?
The rings look very good that's cool :) Did you see the last full view of Saturn lightened from back on the website of NASA? It is a green picture, really fantastic, pretty sure you would like it!
Nice work, thanks
Antoine

the landscape is an image of meteor crater in arizona.
as for the back of saturn, i think i made it too bright.
but i do plan on redoing this image at a later date.:)

Yeah I thought it could be this one. It's a pity I missed it last year, I visited the region... We made it to Wupatki national park instead, and it was great!!
Yes I noticed that the back was a bit too bright but didn't wanted to annoy you with details.
Good work!

I recognized Meteor Crater instantly! :D it makes a perfect stand-in for a moon like Rhea, doesn't it - great stuff! The ring shadow looks pretty good too

I think the lighting is a tiny bit off, if you look at the crater photo, it's lit from about 10 o clock or 10:30 (assuming 12:00 is straight ahead) and Saturn and the moons are lit from somewhere around 7 or 8 o clock (9 o clock would be directly to the left and you'd get a half lit Saturn) That's just a nitpick though, overall I like it a lot B-)

Great interpretation of saturn. You nailed the colors and the rings as well as the proper atmospheric glow. The only thing i think this image needs is for the shadow on Saturn's rings, and the ring's shadows on the planet to be darker.

See this real image: [link]

Wow wow wow! :wow: Amazing scene!
But... is that the meteor crater? :D
I think the ring's shadow disappear too fast... I mean, before the dark area of the planet. And the shadows on the rings should be darker also.
Anyway, this image is still breathtaking! instantly:+fav:ed!

and it is meteor crater!

the technique i used for the ring shadow is quite crude as i thought up a way on how to do it while working on the scene, so it still needs a little refining.

as for the shadow on the rings, your right, they should be a bit darker!

so thanks for the constructive feed back!:D
