update (11/06/12): one of my fellow deviants alerted me to a flaw to the top left of my image. the nebula had a sharp cut off in it. so i opened the psd file and manually brushed in some more nebula to remove the cut off. i also brightened the nebula and added a colour layer over the entire image to help everything blend nicely. so sorry about that.

LISTENING TO THIS TRANCE [link] + VIEWING THIS SPACE SCAPE = EPICNESS!!!:omfg: (i did not make the trance, but kudos to its creator!)

i call this work, Corundum! well, it should really be called blue-corundum, which is actually sapphire, but the tones aren't deep enough.
enough off that and more about the scene! :

its definately one of my more fantasy works!:)
larger moons that are placed more randomly!:omfg: not common in my works!
large star illuminating the nebula!:D oh, and i tried a new star brush too, to make my stars look more like the ones commonly seen in space art! looks better too!:D
a little meteor shower on the nearby moon.;)
moon and planet with city lights. :omfg:

so yeah, i really tried to make it look more unique and sci-fi amongst my other works, which are more science oriented. the scene is a little monotone though. it could probably also use a little more contrast. maybe even a little more features could also be included. but other than that, its definately a greater improvement from most of my previous works, mainly that its more sci-fi!:) and also that it looks better! i also love the angle, really suits it, don't you think?;)
