huh, finished this one a little late didn't i? had a few bugs in the program that i had to work out. but i'm still very pleased with the results! i also enjoyed making this one alot! and its nice to do a cold world for a change.
-this another world in my alpha element universe, anterium ('an' - 'tear' - 'ee' - 'um'). as you can see, its a cold world with large lakes of water on its surface. the world may look like its just covered in ice, but its not. it has large mountains, vallies and forests, but the extreme snow fall and blizzards blancket it all in snow. the world is about the same size and mass as the earth but just slightly bigger. its atmospheric composition is also nearly the same, its just that the temperature is lower. -the planet is home to a bipedal wolf like race known as the vulparra. they live in large cities close to the planets large lakes, and rarely ever venture away from the cities into the winter covered badlands of the planet, as it is very easy to get lost. they named their planet after an ice palace in their mythology. -the planet has a beautiful ring system and a small moon named crovann ('croh' - 'van') thats about half the size as our moon and orbits twice as close as ours along the planets equatorial plane. it was named after an assistant in an ice palace in the vulparras mythology. -there are two very small sheppard moons for the rings called exis and vina. they were named after two ice palace gaurds in the vulparra's mythology. -the planet orbits the large bluish-white star Syva ('sigh' - 'vuh'). it was named after the queen of the ice palace in the vulparras mythology. -there is also five other planets in this system which you may see at a later date.
alpha your work has improved so much in the past year. you have always had great art but now everything is just so beautiful. i love how you have found a really good balance with your planets and your background. when you first started on DA, though still very good, your backgrounds kinda over powered the planet but now its just....wow.
as always my personal fav is the atmosphere you have a good talent for that.
your planet/space art makes me want to come out of this space art hiatus i'm in now but i f i started putting all my time in that again my OC's would kill me haha.
great job as always looking forward to you next piece
Ha! Fun to see a ring system around a telluric planet looks very SciFi. Not sure that would be possible in reality but it is funny. Very well done technically! Did you get your inspiration from the Moon and Titan? Cheers, Antoine
a ring system around an earth like planet is possible in reality, as long as the material remains within the planet's roche limit. but a ring system this close to a star would require shepard moons in order to maintain it. also, any large satalites would need to orbit along the planet's equatorial plane and at a distance that doesn't effect the rings. as for the planet, it did somewhat end up resembling the moon.
